Often overlooked, the System Title is a useful addition to Quality Analyst's output. It appears at the top of all output produced by Quality Analyst, so it's appropriate to identify a company, facility, or office. It's also a good place to record the date and time the output was produced.

To set the System Title:

  1. Start Quality Analyst
  2. Click on the Settings button
  3. In the Title for Graphics and Reports area, enter the System Title.

To add the current date and time to a title, include the replaceable parameters $DATE and $TIME in the title. Notice that $DATE and $TIME must be all capital letters. When output is produced, $DATE will be replaced by the current date, and $TIME will be replaced by the current time. For example, the title:

Amalgamated General $DATE $TIME

Would be replaced by:

Amalgamated General 10/27/03 14:49:15

Two other replaceable parameters are available: $FILE and $FILEBASE. $FILE lists the data set name, complete with path. $FILEBASE lists the data set name without the path. For example, if the data set name is "C:\QA\Weight.dat", the replaceable parameters:

$FILE $FILEBASE

Is replaced by:

File: C:\QA\Weight.dat File: Weight.dat

For more detail, see Title for Graphics and Reports in Chapter 7 of the NWA Quality Analyst User's Manual.
