The National Titanium Dioxide Company Ltd (Cristal) has been manufacturing titanium dioxide (TiO₂) using imported rutile ore at its ultra-modern Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah plant in Saudi Arabia since 1991. The company wanted to establish itself as a world-class manufacturer and to improve efficiency, yield, and quality. Statistical process control (SPC) is the accepted way to achieve these goals. National chose NWA Quality Monitor and NWA Quality Monitor Supervisor to help.
NWA Joins Rockwell Encompass Program
Northwest Analytical has joined the Rockwell Automation Encompass Program. The NWA product line of SPC and Manufacturing Analytics software is now referenced in the Encompass program. The Encompass Program is a product referencing program designed to identify, qualify, and jointly market third-party manufactured products that complement the breadth of world-class products developed by Rockwell Automation.
Gallo Glass uses NWA Quality Analytics and Reporting for World Class Production (PDF)
The Gallo Glass plant in Modesto CA is one of world’s largest bottle plants. They built their own optimized Shop Floor Information System (SFIS) based on commercial software packages for rapid and cost-effective implementation, and minimal long-term maintenance. They chose GE Fanuc iFIX for user interface configuration, MS SQL (updated from Oracle) for database management, and Northwest Analytical Quality Software for SPC and manufacturing analytics reporting.
Silliker Laboratories Deliver Food Quality and Safety Data to Enable National School Lunch Program Success (PDF)
Silliker, Inc., an international network of ISO 17025-accredited food-testing and consulting laboratories, has provided microbiological and food-quality analytical services to support supply-chain quality in the National School Lunch Program over the past year. Silliker sends data and SPC deliverables to both the AMS and the vendors, providing complete transparency along the supply chain.
Huhtamaki Uses Integrated Plant Floor SPC to Save Material Costs Making Plastic Tableware
Huhtamaki Americas operates seventeen manufacturing facilities in North and South America which produce paperboard, plastic, and molded fiber packaging for consumer and food products. The Coleman, MI Huhtamaki facility specializes in plastic thermoforming operations to produce disposable plastic tableware. Using SPC and continuous process improvement methods is the corporate standard process management method and NWA Quality software is the standard SPC software tool.

Manufacturing Analytics (MA) applies process-oriented analytical and visualization methods to all aspects of managing a manufacturing company. It can produce significant results only if the process data is properly collected, managed and manipulated. The ISA (Instruments, Systems, and Analysis Society) Standards Committee for the ISA-95 standard has produced a model which defines all parts of the manufacturing enterprise management and how they link together.
