CSols Integrates Quality Analyst into Links for LIMS
CSols is a Laboratory Systems Integrator providing the expertise, services and products required to integrate laboratory data systems and analytical instruments. Their widely used product, Links for LIMS, can automate all the data processing carried out by an analyst, saving time and removing transcription errors. Each system is configured to meet closely the requirements of the customer. On most sites, many instruments of different types are integrated with the Laboratory’s LIMS.
Now, NWA Quality Analyst can be included in such systems. This means that an analyst can review results for QC Standards (including viewing Control Charts) before reporting results to LIMS. This improves analytical quality and immediacy. Reported Sample data is passed to LIMS and QC data can be seamlessly stored in either the LIMS or a specific Links for LIMS database for further off-line analysis by Quality Analyst.

Events and Publications
Worldwide Food Expo

NWA will exhibit in booth S6663. The NWA exhibit will feature a special screening of a new episode of the Feast or Famine television series which features the USDA AMS vendor certification, food safety and quality system for the National School Lunch Program ground beef purchase. NWA will exhibit solutions for food quality and safety management.
Rockwell Automation Fair
November 14-15, 2007
NWA will exhibit in booth 656 and Phil Schreiber, VP Sales & Marketing will present “Comprehensive SPC-Based Manufacturing Analytics” in the technical sessions. This presentation will define the application of SPC-based Manufacturing Analytics from Northwest Analytical to develop predictive systems and build knowledge bases to support effective decision making.
Modern control systems, plant floor data collection, and laboratories generate large volumes of process data. Unless this data is analyzed and usefully reported to all the staff involved in production and plant management, it will not be useful for operational management decision making. Actively using SPC and Manufacturing Analytics enables this data to be effectively used to manage the enterprise. Tightly coupled analytics will make control systems a core component of 21st century process and enterprise management systems.
An extended version of this presentation has been posted on the NWA web site as the whitepaper, “21st Century Process Management Using SPC Based Manufacturing Analytics” and is also published on the ControlGlobal.com web site.
NWA Article in Food Quality Magazine
Food Quality has published “Lower Risk, Boost Safety, Use vendor certification and continuous process improvement to manage your supply chain safety and quality.” The article is derived from Jeff Cawley’s presentation at the 2007 Food Safety Summit. The article describes how food processors can meet the challenges of maximizing food safety while reducing production costs by improving throughput, product yields, and process efficiencies with SPC based supply chain quality management.
