| NWA customers with manufacturing in China now have access to local representation, training and support for their NWA systems. In May 2004, NWA representatives traveled to major trade zones in China for a series of meetings to explore local support and distribution for NWA's statistical process control and quality analysis software solutions. In August we concluded a mutually exclusive partnering agreement with CA-China Soft Software Technology Co., Ltd. (CA-CSS), the largest distributor of manufacturing software in China. NWA is now the exclusive provider of SPC software to CA-CSS, and CA-CSS is the exclusive general agent for sales, service, training and support for all NWA products in the People’s Republic of China. We are now going to China on a regular basis to provide sales and product training and to discuss the integration of NWA software with the ES/1 Manufacturing system from CA-CSS. ES/1 is an ERP solution fully localized for the China market. With the assistance of CA-CSS, NWA is internationalizing its leading SPC solutions for the China market. To date, 50 companies have implemented NWA SPC solutions in China. Our current users are primarily multi-nationals with plants or contractors in China. The relationship with CA-CSS enables NWA to provide better local service, and also directly reach more Chinese manufacturers. NWA covers all modes of SPC analysis, quality data collection and quality management in the Chinese related supply chain. This includes: - Multinationals based elsewhere with production facilities in China
- Companies outside China subcontracting manufacturing to Chinese plants
- China-based industries which directly supply the local market
These applications range from covering local process and quality control to headquarters-based supply chain quality management. NWA products let the company implement SPC functions in applications ranging from individual plants to the total supply chain. For example, one NWA customer is implementing a web-based supply chain system that monitors process quality at plants in both the United States and China and reports the results to corporate headquarters. NWA is sharing its Chinese market development experiences and taking a leading role in Oregon’s international trade organizations to promote sales of U.S. software to the Chinese market. At a recent Northwest China Council luncheon, James Butler, NWA Global Channel Manager introduced William Lash, Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce. James will provide the keynote presentation for the December Northwest China Council meeting. | | NWA participates in NW China Council. Left to right: James L.
